New Mills Festival High Peak Derbyshire-11-27 September 2015

The work I’m showing as part of New Mills Festival is a series of soft sculptures I made under the heading

‘Too Many Happy Meals’.

Using toys, given as free gifts to entice children to eat at fast food outlets, I scaled up the small toys and using a variety of cheap and cheerful fabrics I made a series of sculptural works.

The sculptures are intended as a critique on capitalism.

Still time to see a couple of my mixed media sculptures at Chapel Gallery Ormskirk-exhibition runs until 9th September

New Mills art Trail-will be showing work at New Mills in September

A6 Dialogue exhibition, Bankley Studios and Gallery-32 artists respond to 1966 O’level Art exam.

‘The wings of Augury’-(after Eileen Agar)

A sneaky preview of part of my surrealist collage in answer to question D.”I dreamt it..”

June- (House) works in progress.

I’ve titled the above piece ‘Coterie-Ladies for the afterlife’ as a tongue in cheek reference to Ancient Egyptian Shabti figures that were buried with the dead to act as servants in the afterlife. The ‘Ladies’ are enclosed in a coffin-like structure, an old Electrolux vacuum cleaner box….guess what they’d be expected to do in the ‘afterlife’?!

‘A woman’s work is never done-Female Deity work box’ (work in progress)
