Acrylic Paintings 2019.

Moving on from paintings of my textile sculptures these recent works take their influence from ancient female forms of the Paleolithic era. I have chosen to paint them as patterned forms to represent the protective power of cloth and women’s enduring relationship with the production of cloth. The use of chiaroscuro enables me to add modelling to the forms.
